M3 Headgasket Project

Monday, September 17th, 2007

When I purchased the car, I had noticed (and was subsequently told by my mechanic) that there was a small, external headgasket leak in the engine. It was not a big deal because it simply meant a little oil was seeping out of the crankcase and there wasnt any risk of catastrophic engine failure. I simply added it to a running list of projects that I needed to tackle.

My M3

Lamborghini Reventon

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Lamborghini ReventonThe new Lamborghini Reventon has been revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.

It is completely carbon-fiber and produces 650hp. It will cost around $1.4 million.

Take a look at some of the photos.

I assume that this is Lamborghi-.. err.. Volkswagen’s version of the Enzo. But I gotta say, it is the ugliest Lamborghini I have seen since Audi took over.  The nose looks like the beak of a cartoon chicken and the lines are a bit too sharp and rigid for me. But let me clarify, no Lamborghini is or has ever been ugly. The Reventon just doesn’t immediately attract me.

The Murcielago and the Diablo are muscular in appearance but have very fluid lines that designer Walter de Silva brought together beautifully (IMO). But so far, at least from the front, this new Reventon harkens back to the 1980s with Countach’s where you could poke your eye out if you looked at the car from the wrong angle.

What do you think?
